This year will be our 12th Waterloo Ball, so to mark this occasion the Lord’s Taverners have joined forces with the Mayor of Castlereagh, Shaw’s Bridge Sports Association, Phoenix Natural Gas, and the Bank of Scotland (Ireland) to recreate the Duchess of Richmond’s Ball held in Brussels on the 15th of June 1815. The Ball was attended by the Duke of Wellington and his officers, many of whom began the battle 48 hours later, still wearing their dancing pumps!
This Ball and other events throughout the year, should raise at least £150,000 to help disadvantaged and disabled children by directly funding a number of projects sponsored by The Lord’sTaverners, The ‘Energy for Children’ Charitable Trust, and The Mayor of Castlereagh’s nominated charity. All money raised will go towards projects to give disadvantaged and disabled youngsters in Northern Ireland ‘a sporting chance’.
This is an unique, exclusive opportunity to experience top class entertainment at the very best Gala Ball in the country and raise funds for a most deserving cause.
So let us entertain you!
